Bathroom Renovation Week 2: Choosing tile and plumbing fixtures
Demo is in full swing! But I would rather share a “sneak peak” of our finished bathroom, than a photo of the state the room is currently in.
We used matte black fixtures in our kitchen when we renovated it last year, so that was an easy decision. We decided on the Delta Trinsic line. My husband really wanted a walnut cabinet (more details on that in the future!).
Now I was ready to choose my tile. Let me tell you, I really took my time on this one. There was a wide variety to choose from. I knew I wanted some subway tile to tie in with our kitchen. But let’s be honest, when you are in a Renovation Challenge and Jeffrey Court is supplying the tile, I was able to look at options that would otherwise be a bit out of my budget. So I started with all the beautiful Carrara Marble. :)
Our hero in this room is definitely the Laurel Nickel large hexagon tile in the photo above, which is trimmed out in brushed nickel (**this tile also comes in a gorgeous white natural stone trimmed out in brass). Then, we are using white subway tile on the walls, and finished with the Carrara Constellation Mosaic tile for the shower floor.
My husband is making a pair of vintage insulator pendant lights to match the others he has made for our home, and I am finishing with some authentic Turkish Towels my best friend just brought me all the way from Turkey.
I can’t wait until it all comes together. More to come, stay tuned!
