Ocean Themed Baby Shower- Food, Beverages and Decorations
I already posted about my invitations, and the cute lil' fishy soap party favors, so now it's time to fill you in on the rest!
Decorating- This is by far my favorite part! I purchased some Mermaid Graphics for about $1 from Petittatti on Etsy, which I was then free to use how I saw fit. I borrowed blue glass stones from a friend, and found the floating glass votives on clearance at HomeSense. Add in a trip to Michael's and the Dollar Tree and you have yourself a party! Most of the ideas you see here I found on Pinterest.
Ikea wine glasses with mermaid graphics purchased from Petittatti on Etsy printed on card stock, then punched out with a dye cutter.
Mason jars (I have 36 to use as Party Glasses) with another mermaid graphic purchased from Petittatti on Etsy. Starfish from Michael's
Food and Beverage- Since our bungalow is pretty tiny, I decided to keep things really simple. I set up two tables; one for food and the other for drinks. For drinks I served Wine, Hawaiian Punch and Lemon Water. Since the Open House started at 1pm, I thought serving lunch would be appropriate. I decided on a Salad Bar including Chicken Salad, Pasta Salad and Fruit Salad.

Create your own unique food and beverage labels using Dollar Tree frames, clip art and card stock.
I enrolled some baking friends for these yummy gluten-free cupcakes!
I couldn't resist keeping the snacks Ocean Themed as well. Wait- to clarify, my Beta fish "Ahi" was NOT a snack, Although he was decoration for the day. Thanks for playing along, Ahi! :)
Crepe Streamer "Seaweed" was the cheapest and probably most impactful decoration! Only $.50 a pack at the Dollar Tree! I haven't used this stuff for years but I'm bringing it back, for sure!
What you can't see, but we could hear- was my music selection; I used iTunes radio station Hawai'i 78 Radio. What a great station!
I hope my series of posts about hosting an Ocean themed baby shower is helpful to you and your future party planning! It was sure a lot of fun. As always, if you have any questions about my budget, recipes or anything else, feel free to send me an email!
Aloha and Mahalo!
